YG-1 Launches ‘ENMX’ Insert - A New High Feed Milling Series for Narrow and Long Reach Application

The YG High Feed Mill 4 is a new high feed milling series developed to meet the most stringent demands of versatility, productivity and process stability required in today’s applications. These types of tools are commonly used in mold & die, power generation and across a variety of applications and materials in the general machining markets. The unique YG High Feed Mill 4 concept is the ideal tooling choice for high feed milling in smaller sizes.
The unique thickness of the YG-1 ENMX offers a series of benefits. A typical wear pattern in high feed milling is flank wear and as this wear expands, it may encroach on the secondary edge. By making the inserts 20-25% thicker than existing solutions on the market, one can allow this wear to develop without encroaching on secondary edge, resulting in full use of all 4 edges, yielding an economical solution. The insert thickness also lends itself to the most stable clamping ensuring predictable and secure machining and longer tool life in the toughest applications.
The thicker negative insert has a positive rake angle that improves chip evacuation and reduces machining load. And corner protection design is applied to enhance the rigidity while increasing tool life with optimal geometry of chip-breakers.
It is expected that both metric and inch version would be launched in June. Cylindrical cutter is available from diameter from 16mm up to 32mm (0.75”-1.25”) and shell mills are available from 40mm up to 50mm (1.5”-2”)
