YG-1 has launched a new milling grade – “YG5020”, featuring CVD coating for optimal cast iron machining.
YG5020 has great wear-resistance and toughness to sustain a longer tool life. A special stress removal treatment, which is applied after the coating process provides better chip evacuation and surface finish.
In particular, it shows superior performance in face milling operations - such as commercial vehicle engine, and other machine parts, owing to the grade’s suitability for high-speed and high-feed machining.
The YG5020 grade is applied to the ONMU insert (16 corners) which is currently available. Moreover, it will soon be available with SNMX insert (8 corners) as well, which has also recently completed development. These multi-corner indexable inserts can be expected to bring in great economic value, and deal with customer demands for cast iron machining effectively.
